Review:
I’ve been meaning to read this for years, ever since I heard a song from the musical. It was great to finally get around to it.

This was an interesting story. I’ll admit that I didn’t really know what it was about when I started reading it. I really liked it though. Bechdel did a great job at writing the voice. It felt authentic and helped tell a good story. There were times when the story got heavy, but even during those parts I enjoyed the story. It was a fun read and I’ll likely reread it.

I only really had a minor issue with this story and that was the timeline. It wasn’t bad necessarily, I just found that I had trouble keeping up with what was going on and how old the character was at a given time. Could be my fault though. Also, I did find that at times it kind of dragged. It wasn’t often and wasn’t horrible, but it did lose my attention sometimes.

If you’re in the mood for an exploratory graphic novel, I’d definitely recommend you pick this one up. It was interesting and had some very fun scenes. It also had a few panels that I absolutely adored.
