Favorite Quote/Scene:
Them trying to figure out their connection
Review:
After a readthrough of Chemistry Lessons, I had the strong urge to reread Heart Troubles. So, I did!
I forgot how much I loved these characters together. It’s an interesting plot that throws them together, but they complement each other so well throughout the story. Their interactions are adorable, and their relationship feels solid and well-built. The two of them had a fun connection and dynamic with one another as well as their friends and family members.
I loved the “paranormal” part of the book. It’s not a lot, just a connection between the two characters. I thought that it didn’t involve a huge stretch of logic. Like, it won’t ever happen in real life, but it’s not completely extreme. The connection allowed the two to have a deeper relationship with each other, but it also caused its fair share of problems as well. Watching the two of them try to keep others from figuring it out when they were first figuring out was going on was funny.
I’ve very rarely been disappointed by a book by Jae. She writes characters that feel real even if they feel out of my zone while also writing characters that complement each other. There are fun dynamics and banter between the various characters that allow them to feel real without feeling perfect.
For some reason, I wasn't quite able to get my thoughts together for this review. If I reread this book at any point, I'll definitely update this review.
