"I would give her the whole damned galaxy if it meant that she would love me too."

Review:
I have complicated feelings about poetry. I used to love it a lot, but eventually I just stopped reading it. I don't know why, I just did. I haven't read poetry in a while, at least to my recollection. But I couldn't pass up a gay poetry collection.

My two favorite poems are probably #10 and #19. Those two poems are just the ones that got to the core of my own hopes and dreams when it comes to being in a romantic relationship. They just spoke to me and I deeply loved them. Strangely enough though, my favorite quote doesn't come from either of those but instead comes from poem #20.

Scheck covers several different types of emotions in her various poems. There are some poems that speak to hope and what she wants in the world. There are other poems that speak to heartbreak and the pain that others have, intentionally or unintentionally, caused her. There are other poems that just speak to joy and the feeling of falling in love. I'm impressed! Scheck did a great job at covering these feelings in her poems.

This is a collection of 35 poems. With all collections there are likely to be some that you like and others that just don't hit the same feelings within you. I did experience that, but minimally. I really enjoyed most of these poems, only a couple of them didn't work for me.

I enjoyed this a lot. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it, but by the end of it I was ready to read some more of Scheck's work. These poems were beautiful even when they punched you right in the feels. Scheck has skill, at least as far as I'm concerned. I hope the best for her in her future endeavors and I hope others give this piece of work a chance, it's worth it.
