Ooh the excitement I felt when I got the ARC email for this book!!! It was practically unmatched. Each time I got one of these books and finished it, I grew more and more excited for the next. So this book, both a spinoff and a culmination of the series, had me riding high! I am ever so thankful that not only did I stumble across Cirrus Rae's TikTok, but also that she kept me as an ARC reader for all 4 of these books. Thank you so much to her for allowing me to read this. And I truly hope that you enjoy the Masked Mascs series as much as I have!

If you remember Gia from Till Death, you might be very interested in this book. If the thought of falling for the "other woman" while seeking revenge on your cheating girlfriend sounds appealing, ooh this book might have something for you. There might be less fear in this book, at least for the protagonists, but there's still a darkness in it that calls towards the darkness that lingers in all of us. Make sure to check the trigger warnings and, if you haven't already, I do recommend reading the other three books in the Masked Mascs series before reading this one. Take care and happy reading!

Simone
I knew Gia was cheating. The late nights. The secrecy. The same old lies.

So I went to Alba, Nik, and Remy, the women who knew exactly how Gia plays her games.

They didn’t tell me to move on. They told me to make her pay, but not alone.

I sought out the other woman, Nova, and suddenly, revenge wasn’t the only thing I wanted.
Nova
I thought I loved Gia.

But when I trusted my gut and followed her home, I found more than just her cheating. I found my new purpose.

When Simone came to me, I should’ve walked away. Instead, I helped her plan a night Gia would never forget.

But somewhere between the rage, regret, and the way Simone looked at me… I stopped caring about revenge.

In that moment, she wanted me, and I was hers.
A spinoff novella by Cirrus Rae, who is quickly becoming an auto-buy, must-read author? You can bet that I was ready and raring to go when I got the email with this ARC in it!!! I think this book could, and probably should, just be lumped in with the rest of the series. It has a very similar tone as the other books.
This book goes back to the method used in Into the Fire with both characters getting roughly the same amount of POV chapters. I have found in reading this series that that is my preference. I like getting insight into both main characters and what makes them tic. Plus, it allows the reader to feel more connected to both of them and their burgeoning relationship.
The heat in this book was good, fabulous even, but something about it just didn’t hit the same level as the other books for me. I did really enjoy that both characters were switches, or something like that at least, because that’s not really something we’ve seen in the previous books. It was fun and excellently well done. I enjoyed the dynamic between Simone and Nova. It was hot!
The relationship between Simone and Nova was also wildly sweet. I don’t typically expect a lot of sweetness in a book like this. I expect some, but I also expect that to be a bit overshadowed by the darker elements. But because the darker elements were focused on Gia and not either of the main characters, the sweetness got to remain very strong. The two characters together are a beautiful mix of sweet but dark. They can talk to each other with such care, but when it comes to Gia there’s darkness and anger in them that the other helps to cultivate and let loose.
I’m going to spend some time here vaguely talking about the revenge element. I don’t want to spoil the book for anyone who is interested, but the revenge was easily my favorite part in the book and I need to discuss it. So, without getting too into it, the revenge was fucking amazing. The way that it was handled by Simone and Nova, the way that Alba was even drawn into it for a moment, it was all so amazing. It never got to a grotesque point where I felt like it was too much, but it did feel like full revenge. Not something half-assed. I felt like the anger Simone and Nova felt was palpable and the way that they handled it, the way that they handled Gia, was reflective of that. Their anger fueled their actions. It was amazing.
Also, the ending to this book was just perfection. The way it tied the entire series together was fantastic. I love it!! Honestly, I loved all the characters in this series and all their romances, so getting this like final closure for them all was just heartwarming. I would gladly read 100 more books in this series, all 10x the length.
