Review:
The title of this book was the first thing that drew me towards it. I was lucky enough to receive a copy from the publisher in exchange for reviewing it for a book tour.

The plot of this book was probably the most unique thing about it. I've never seen a book with a prompt like this and I thought the plot was handled very well. There was a reason that made some sense as to why the situation was occurring. There was also a good build up and resolution to the story.

I also thought that this book was decently well-paced. There was a slight slowdown at the beginning but there usually is as everyone has to get introduced and such. I would have preferred a bit more time with the final conflict, but that's more of a personal preference. It worked well, I just wanted more from it. Other than those two things, everything felt like it moved at a good pace. Nothing seemed to be trying for a speedrun record and nothing seemed to be dragging its feet to avoid the ending.

The characters in this book were a lot of fun. The main character was interesting and felt well-developed, but I also really loved the side characters. None of the characters felt forced into the story or like they only existed to be a throwaway introduction. Everyone felt like they had a purpose either in the story or in interactions with the main character.

My biggest issue with this book was the relationship. It wasn't a bad relationship or poorly developed. The thing is, I just didn't really care. I wasn't rooting for or against them getting together. I was just ambivalent to the entire situation. I do think that the two had some good chemistry with one another, it just wasn't enough to make me feel invested.

This is a complicated book to review mainly because I struggled with what I disliked about it. It took me a bit to realize that it was the relationship. I'm definitely willing to give this book another chance in case it was me causing the issue. The story is good, and I think it holds up pretty well.
