Review:
I will freely admit that I don't really read books meant for kids this young. I'm an adult with no kids, so books like this aren't geared towards me. That being said, I think this book is pretty good.

I can't claim that it's an amazing work of literature that will transcend time and space because it's a 20 (or 40 depending on format) page book clearly geared towards younger readers. It's good for what it is.

This is a book meant to reframe the color-gender binary. I thought this book did a pretty good job at it. It's simple enough for kids to understand while also teaching them that they can love whatever color they want to.

It has great illustrations! I love the look of this book. The art is just really pretty, and I adore the way the colors are used.

I think I saw a couple of reviews that mentioned that the art was still stereotypical in how they portrayed girls and boys, but I don't think that's what we were trying to dismantle. That's for another book. This book just wanted to focus on making it clear that everyone can love every color, not that both boys and girls can wear dresses. Would it have been nice? Yes. Is it necessary? Not really.
