takes Evony outside the borders to fight the familiars head-to-head. All is
well until they’re captured by witch Aradia, who steals Ammon’s heart and leaves
his body to turn into one of her familiars. What’s worse, his sister Nissa has
been taken hostage by Aradia’s daughter. Evony makes it her miss onto retrieve
Ammon’s heart and save Nissa, taking her into the mysterious Witchlands. There,

My Review:
I want to start by mentioning just how much I adore this cover! Not part of my official review, but that cover is so absolutely gorgeous that I can't just not mention it. Also, the cover of the book under the dust jacket is just perfection.
This book was so amazing! I absolutely loved the storyline and was hooked from the very beginning. Did not want to put it down once I started. The characters were compelling and there was enough drama and interesting twists that made the story something truly amazing.
Personally I think this book could appeal to a lot of people, but it's definitely geared towards teens and such. There's nothing too extreme in the story even if the topics aren't meant for younger children.
The artwork in this novel is stunning. I loved the character designs and how easy it was to tell the characters apart. (Sometimes I struggle, it's easier when the characters look quite different from each other.)
I don't know if this is a stand-alone or the beginning of a series. It wraps up nicely, but also throws something in at the end that hints towards there being more to the story.
About Leigh Dragoon:
LEIGH
DRAGOON was
raised in a log cabin in the Adirondacks, where she developed an early love of
reading and writing. She became a fan of Little Women at age nine, after Beth’s
demise made her bawl herself to sleep. This led to a lifelong appreciation of
the book. After years of annual rereads, she became fascinated with learning
about Louisa May and her family. She adapted both Richelle Mead’s Vampire
Academy and Marie Lu’s Legend series into graphic novel scripts. She has also
written two prose Adventure Time novels: Queen of Rogues and The Lonesome
Outlaw.
