Without looking at a dictionary define the word monster
Review:
I owe so many thanks to Katy Nishimoto for sending me a copy of this book! Getting to read this was an absolutely breathtaking experience.
When I finished reading this book I was at a loss for words. I finished reading it months ago and even now I can still feel the way I felt when I finished it for the first time. It also left me with a need to share this book with others and allow them to have a similar experience to me. I even brought it in one day to show something to mu therapist.
So this book is unlike any other that I’ve read so far. It’s a collection of letters that the author wrote to various people, groups, or institutions. In between the letters there is a challenge for the reader to do. It ranges from “go into the woods...and let yourself take to the earth like a fallen tree” to “write a prayer of hope”. And it seems like the same sort of challenges that my therapist would give to the group as homework.
This book was stunning and absolutely brims with emotions. The author wrote from the heart and that could be felt through the pages. It was an amazing experience to read this book. So full of passion that it hurt when certain topics were discussed because it felt like the topics hurt the author.
