My rating: 1 of 5 stars
Finished on August 28, 2021
Favorite Scene/Quote: The discussion about a BDSM relationshiop

1.5/5

I’m not sure what originally drew me to this book, but something made me want to read it. I’ve never read anything by this author, but I decided to give her a chance. I was luckily able to receive an eARC from Bold Strokes Books and Netgalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Review: Return to Paradise

Return to Paradise Return to Paradise by Laina Villeneuve
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Finished on August 26, 2021
Favorite Scene/Quote: Madison and Lacey visiting where Lacey was raised

4.5/5

An impulse purchase because I was intrigued by the summary. I don’t recall ever reading another book by this author, so I had no real clue what to expect from Villeneuve’s writing.

Review: Rising from Ash

Rising from Ash Rising from Ash by Jax Meyer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Finished on August 27, 2021
Favorite Scene/Quote: "But first Phoenix had to find her. And walk around the world. Talk about an eventful day!"

I had been wanting to read this book for a couple months and got so excited when I was finally able to. It’s a sapphic romance with an ace-spectrum (demisexual, specifically) character.

I love a good graphic novel! I didn’t actually know that this book was a graphic novel when I picked it up, but I was very pleasantly surprised.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Finished on August 5, 2021
Favorite Scene/Quote: "Listen, I deal with my fear through inappropriate humour. You'll need to get used to it."

This book seemed right up my alley from the first time I read the summary. I love a good adventure in nature story, and I was very intrigued by this summary. I’ve not read a book by Hudson prior, but I probably would read another one by her.

Review: Tink and Wendy

Tink and Wendy Tink and Wendy by Kelly Ann Jacobson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Finished on June 30, 2021
Favorite Scene/Quote: "After all, Peter was always cruelest when he least intended it."

3.5/5 rounded down

I didn’t expect this review to be as hard as it is to write but, in all honesty, I’m still not 100% sure how I feel about some parts of this book. The concept for this book was really interesting to me. A book split between the past, the present, and sections from a history book written about Neverland. A queer adaptation of Peter Pan. I was so interested in this book.  I was provided an eARC from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Favorite Scene/Quote: "It's not like I planned to kiss her. It was more like...an accident."
"An accident?"

I heard that Jae had a new book coming out this year and I immediately wanted to jump on it. No hesitation, I didn’t even need a summary. When I got a summary, I was even more intrigued. Friends-to-lovers romance, sign me up.

Frankie & Bug Frankie & Bug by Gayle Forman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Finished on August 5, 2021
Favorite Scene/Quote: "Little strange to send Frankie out to see Phillip, in Venice, to get it out of his system."

4.25/5 rounded down

I was granted an eARC of this book on behalf of the publisher in exchange for a fair, honest review. I really like middle-grade books that feature LGBTQ+ characters, so I really wanted to read this book and see where it went.

Blog Tour: Like Other Girls Review and Giveaway

I am thrilled to be hosting a spot on the LIKE OTHER GIRLS by Britta Lundin Blog Tour hosted by Rockstar Book Tours. LIKE OTHER GIRLS is one of those books that I just felt drawn to for some reason. From the first time that I saw the cover and read the summary, I knew that I wanted to read this book. I was going to wait until my library got the book, but I was lucky enough to get a copy by taking part in this book tour. My review is about halfway down the page. At the end of this post you will find a giveaway and the rest of the tour schedule.

Review: Times of Our Lives

Times of Our Lives Times of Our Lives by Jane Waterton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Finished on August 10, 2021
Favorite Scene/Quote: The Tupperware party, hands down

I picked this book up for the sole reason of it taking place in a retirement community. I don’t often find books that portray older women, and I was instantly intrigued, especially since it wasn’t focused on just one couple.

Bad Witch Burning Bad Witch Burning by Jessica Lewis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Finished on August 5, 2021
Favorite Scene/Quote: "By the way, witches don't share."

4.5/5 rounded down

I wasn’t positive what to expect out of this book, but I won a digital eARC and figured that it would be interesting enough. The cover is beautiful, but it seemed like an awfully dark book, and I wasn’t sure I would enjoy it.

Review: The Witch Boy

The Witch Boy The Witch Boy by Molly Ostertag
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Finished on August 6, 2021
Favorite Scene/Quote: The grandmother at the end

I was very excited to read this book. I managed to find this book completely unexpectedly and I was beyond thrilled. Quick note: There seems to be some debate about whether this book is LGBTQ+ in some way. Personally, I go with yes. Not explicitly, but a subtle GNC individual. Definitely my personal opinion, feel free to shelve it as you like. That’s all I wanted to say.

Review: The Princess Affair

The Princess Affair The Princess Affair by Nell Stark
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Finished on August 2, 2021
Favorite Scene/Quote: "You're not a teenage boy; you're a nerd...In the body of a Greek god."

I apparently really like gay romances with royalty. Not too surprising. I really loved Nell Stark’s The Princess Deception, so I figured I should give this book a chance too.
